Manual operation worm drive screw jack (also known as a manual worm gear screw jack, a manual lifting screw jack, or a manually operated screw jack) is the most economical and efficient mechanism for lifting and lowering loads, for push-pull applications where electricity or power generators is inconvenient or dangerous. Manual operation worm drive screw jack has intermittent precisely positioning and self-locking feature for no creeping down without brake mechanism or locking systems. Note: Handwheels do not include a brake and therefore are not for use with ball screw jacks.
Manual operation worm drive screw jack working principle is worm screw (also known as input shaft) is rotated manually operated by a hand wheel, worm gear is rotated by the worm screw, the trapezoidal lifting screw moves through the rotating worm gear. The manual operation worm drive screw jack linear motion speed of trapezoidal lifting screw depends on thread size and rotation ratio of worm gears. Handwheels are available in a range of diameters from 100mm to 900mm and can be adapted for use on screw jacks from 500 pound up to the 200 kN capacity model, if larger than 200 kN capacity models, we don't suggest use handwheels manually operated.
In order to precise position display of the travel length, the worm drive screw jack input shaft adds a digital position indicator which measures the rotation of the input shaft and display a corresponding position in a counter window. The display value per input shaft revolution is variable and is achieved through a series of gear reductions configured to accommodate different screw jacks worm gear ratios, screw pitch and travel distances. Note: not for use with motorized applications.
