Probably most people have the traditional understanding of
counter-rotating twin screw extruder.Low speed and low shear are the most points for such twin screw
extruder. Anyway, such typical machines, presently, are just
successfully applied in PVC process and some other special
processes.Along with the deep and full understanding of the advantages and
disadvantages of such counter rotating twin screw extruder, we

Near-to-zero IV drop now is practicable for screw extrusion
process. This great point is mainly contributed from some very
unique features in high speed twin screw extruder. Among of these
features, the most important point is the larger exposed area to
extreme vacuum during extrusion. The most sections along the two
screws are exposed and this will cause better removing of low
molecular weight materials. Also, the gentle shearing along whole
screw could avoid overheating very well.
Strong taking-in features and high speed condition make this twin
screw extruder very advantageous for those fluffy materials, like
film scrapes, bottle flakes, chopped fibers. Such system could
avoid the agglomeration units to avoid extra energy consumption.
